Every year, I get super excited when strawberry season rolls around.
The sweet juicy morsels are perfection, whether you’re serving them over shortcake or pancakes, dipping them in whipped cream or sugar, or eating them plain while their juices drip down your fingers.
Ever since I made a chocolate milkshake in the Ninja Creami, I knew I would need to try some different flavors.
For this variety, I specifically wanted to use some ripe strawberries I had on hand.
The result was a sweet, thick, strawberries and cream treat that disappeared fast.
If you’re a fan of strawberries, give this Ninja Creami strawberry milkshake a try!
Making a Ninja Creami Milkshake with Strawberries
When making this milkshake, you can choose to use vanilla ice cream or strawberry ice cream.
Obviously, you’ll have a stronger strawberry flavor if you use strawberry ice cream, but vanilla works fine as well.
Fresh strawberries work well here, but you could also use frozen strawberries that have been thawed.
One way the Milkshake function differs from the ice cream function is in the timing of mix-ins.
With ice cream, you don’t add the mix-in until after processing the ice cream. With milkshakes, you add the mix-in in the beginning, along with the milk and ice cream.

How to Make a Ninja Creami Strawberry Milkshake
You can skip the drive through and make your own strawberry milkshake at home!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Ice Cream (vanilla or strawberry)
- Milk
- Fresh strawberries
How to Make it:
Combine ingredients. In an empty Ninja Creami pint container, add ice cream and milk.
Spin. Next, add the chopped strawberries to the pint and place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami machine and lock the lid into place.
Secure the outer bowl assembly into the Ninja Creami ice cream maker. Press the Milkshake button and allow the cycle to complete.
Serve. Remove the outer bowl from the machine and take off the lid. Remove the pint container and pour the milkshake into serving glasses.
If desired, top with a dollop of whipped cream!
Notes and Adaptations:
- If you need this treat to be dairy-free, you can use dairy-free milk and a dairy-free ice cream. My Ninja Creami dairy-free vanilla ice cream is a great choice.
- I used fresh strawberries, but you can also use frozen strawberries that have been thawed, though they may have more liquid in them and could affect the final consistency of the ice cream (consider decreasing the amount of milk in that case).
- You can use strawberry or vanilla flavored ice cream—strawberry ice cream will provide additional flavor and color, but vanilla ice cream works great, too.
