Perhaps one of the best things about the Ninja Creami machine is the ability to make healthier treats with it, from homemade ice cream to refreshing sorbet.

Whether you’re adding protein, cutting back on sugar, or wanting to get more fruit into your diet, it’s pretty easy to do with the Ninja Creami!

One of the things I love most is the ability to make Ninja Creami sorbet recipes, usually with just a couple of ingredients.

For instance, I love making Ninja Creami cherry limeade sorbet with pie filling and fresh limes.

But did you know you can make fruit sorbet using canned fruit?

It’s true! I do it for my Ninja Creami pear sorbet and my easy Ninja Creami peach sorbet, too!

For this Ninja Creami mango sorbet, I transform canned mango into a deliciously refreshing treat!

I love having a few pint containers ready to go in my freezer. It’s the perfect way to cool down when a craving strikes for a sweet treat on a hot summer day!

You can easily adjust the sweetness of your sorbet by choosing different types of canned mangos.

Because the canned mango is the main ingredient in this sorbet, you’ll definitely want to check it to see if you need to tweak it before freezing.

For this mango sorbet, I used diced canned mango packed in light syrup, because I wanted them to be a bit sweeter than mangoes packed in fruit juice.

For sweeter sorbet, you can opt for mangos packed in heavy syrup.

And of course, you can always add a tablespoon or two of sugar, honey, maple syrup, or your preferred sweetener of choice if you want a bit more sweetness!

How to Make Ninja Creami Mango Sorbet with Canned Mangos

In my opinion, the best Ninja Creami recipes are those that are easy to make–and this one fits the bill perfectly!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Canned diced mangos (I used mango packed in light syrup)
  • Optional: sugar, maple syrup, honey or other sweetener to taste

How to Make it:

Prep mangos. Pour the diced mangos into a Ninja Creami pint container, being careful not to exceed the max fill line. If you’re adding any sweetener at this point, go ahead and stir it in well.

Freeze. Close the lid on the pint and transfer it to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.

Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the pint into the outer bowl apparatus and lock the outer bowl lid into place. Place bowl assembly into the Ninja Creami ice cream maker.

Select the button for the Sorbet function and allow the motor base to run, which takes a couple of minutes.

Check consistency. Once the cycle is complete, remove the pint and check the consistency. If it’s a little crumbly, return it to the machine and use the Re-spin function to cycle it again to get the perfect texture.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • Feel free to add a tablespoon of lime juice or lemon juice to your mangos for a little more flavor dimension. You could also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • You can adjust the sweetness to your taste by choosing how your mangos are packed, or by adding sweetener (sugar, maple syrup, honey, or monk fruit sweetener are all great choices) before freezing.
  • This sorbet would make a good base for a smoothie bowl, too! Top with fresh berries, sliced banana, or other fresh fruit for a tasty treat.
  • Because there’s no heavy cream or milk in this recipe, it’s an ideal dairy-free treat you can enjoy at the touch of a button.
  • If you’re enjoying leftovers, I recommend letting the pint sit out at room temperature for 10 minutes or so to soften slightly before scooping and serving.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Additional Time 1 day
Total Time 1 day 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 15-oz can diced mangoes (I used mango packed in light syrup)
  • Optional: Additional sweetener to taste, as needed (see notes below)

Instructions

  1. Pour mangos and syrup into a Ninja Creami pint container. If needed, add sweetener at this time, stirring well to combine. Be sure to not exceed the max fill line on the pint.
  2. Close pint lid and transfer to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
  3. Remove from freezer and take off lid. Place pint container into the outer bowl apparatus and lock the outer bowl lid into place. Secure the outer bowl into the Ninja Creami machine.
  4. Select the Sorbet function and allow the cycle to complete.
  5. When the cycle is complete, remove pint and check consistency of sorbet. If it appears crumbly, return the pint to the machine and use the Re-spin function to spin it again.

Notes

  • Feel free to add a tablespoon of lime juice or lemon juice to your mangos for a little more flavor dimension. You could also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • You can adjust the sweetness to your taste by choosing how your mangos are packed, or by adding sweetener (sugar, maple syrup, honey, or monk fruit sweetener are all great choices) before freezing. I suggest adding one tablespoon at a time until you're satisfied. I find sweetness decreases slightly after freezing, so you may want to make it a little sweeter than you think you would prefer.
