As someone who has made homemade ice cream and sorbets for many years, I have to say that I’ve been very impressed with the Ninja Creami ice cream maker.

One of my favorite things about it is the ability to make frozen treats out of ingredients you wouldn’t be able to typically use in a traditional ice cream machine.

For instance, I’ve made Ninja Creami cherry limeade sorbet with pie filling, refreshing Ninja Creami mango sorbet from canned mangos, and delicious Ninja Creami orange sorbet from Jell-O!

Because my kids and I love applesauce, I knew I wanted to try making Ninja Creami applesauce sorbet.

The result was a delicious treat made from simple ingredients, which is the best kind of dessert, in my opinion!

In fact, it’s on my list of the best Ninja Creami sorbet recipes, and for good reason.

Making Cinnamon Applesauce Sorbet in the Ninja Creami

If you’re a fan of warm cinnamon apples or homemade apple pie, I think you’re going to love this recipe.

It takes classic applesauce, combines it with some brown sugar (or other sweetener) and ground cinnamon, transforming the ingredients into a refreshing frozen treat.

You could eat it as-is, or use it as a base for smoothie bowls, adding chopped nuts and fresh fruit as desired.

And because this is a dairy-free Ninja Creami recipe, it’s perfect for those who can’t enjoy traditional ice cream.

The flavors make this one of our favorite Ninja Creami recipes for fall.

Not only that, but it ends up being a low calorie Ninja Creami recipe that you can feel good about!

Freeze. Close lid on the pint container and transfer to a level surface in the freezer for at least 24 hours.

Spin. Remove the pint container from the freezer and remove the lid. Place pint into the outer bowl and secure the outer bowl lid.

Place bowl assembly into the Ninja Creami machine, locking it into place. Press the Sorbet button and allow the cycle to complete.

Check consistency. Remove the pint from the machine and check the sorbet’s consistency.

If it appears crumbly after spinning the first time, insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin function to cycle it again.

If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of water to the sorbet, then Re-spin once more.

Notes and Adaptations for Ninja Creami Apple Cinnamon Sorbet:

  • I used unsweetened applesauce and added 4 tablespoons of sugar. If you’re using sweetened applesauce, you’ll likely only need 2 tablespoons of sugar. You can taste and adjust as needed. Keep in mind that the sorbet will be slightly less sweet after freezing.
  • I recommend starting with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, then adding more if you feel like it needs it. You could also add a dash of ground nutmeg or other spices if you’d like.
  • Feel free to use maple syrup or regular white sugar instead of brown sugar, if desired.
  • You can also use homemade applesauce if you’d like–just be sure to adjust the amount of sugar and/or cinnamon accordingly.
