Do you ever have those mornings or afternoons when you just need a little something to get you back on your feet again?
I love to stop and pick up an iced mocha latte or frappuccino on such occasions. The coffee paired with the sweetness of chocolate is perfection.
So why not translate those flavors into dessert?
This Ninja Creami mocha ice cream does just that, combining espresso and chocolate into a rich and creamy treat that’s super easy to make.
It’s everything you love about a specialty beverage, but you can enjoy it at home whenever the craving strikes!

Easy Mocha Ice Cream
To keep this mocha ice cream as simple as possible, I opted to use instant espresso powder for that rich coffee flavor.
You might wonder if you can just use brewed coffee instead, but I wouldn’t suggest it. Coffee is mostly water, so using it in your ice cream will give it more of an icy texture instead of a smooth creaminess we get from milk and cream.
Cocoa powder gives the ice cream base a hint of chocolate flavor, and then chocolate chunks or chips are mixed in at the end to up the chocolate factor.

How to Make Ninja Creami Mocha Ice Cream
It’s really easy to whip up this frozen dessert.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Whole milk
- Heavy cream
- Granulated sugar
- Honey
- Salt
- Vanilla extract
- Instant espresso powder
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- Chocolate chunks or chocolate chips

How to Make It:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Make the base. First, you’ll whisk together the espresso powder, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
Then add in the milk, cream, vanilla extract, and honey. Whisk well to combine, or briefly pulse with an immersion blender.
Freeze. Next you’ll pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container (don’t exceed the max fill line), secure the lid on it, and transfer to a level surface in your freezer.
Freeze for at least 24 hours.
Spin and Mix-in. Last, you’ll use your Ninja Creami machine to process the pint using the Ice Cream setting. If it’s crumbly afterward, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin the ice cream so it’s nice and smooth.
Then make a well in the center of the ice cream and add your chocolate chunks or chips to the well. Pop the pint back into the machine and use the Mix-in setting to incorporate the chocolate.
Then serve and enjoy!
Notes and Adaptations:
- Cookies and Cream Mocha Variation: Add crushed chocolate sandwich cookies instead of chocolate chunks.
- White Chocolate Mocha Variation: Skip the cocoa powder and mix in white chocolate chunks for a creamy coffee flavor.
- Making a Mocha Creamiccino in the Creami Deluxe machine: To make this into a “Creamiccino” or Frappe: use the base after freezing (before spinning), and add milk on top of it up to the “Drinkable” line on the pint container. Then spin on “Creamiccino” function.
