All you need is four ingredients and you have a delicious frozen dessert that’s perfect for summer.
Making Peanut Butter Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
I’ve been making homemade ice creams and sorbets for many years, including ice cream machine recipes and no-churn recipes.
But one thing that stands out to me about the Ninja Creami machine is the ability to use ingredients you might not otherwise use in ice cream recipes.
For instance, I love making Ninja Creami recipes using pudding mix, because it is an inexpensive ingredient that serves multiple purposes.
It acts as a binder for the ice cream base (no cream cheese needed), plus it brings sweetness and flavor (no vanilla extract needed) to the final product.
After creating my Ninja Creami Butterfinger ice cream recipe, I knew I wanted to try one with just peanut butter.
I used vanilla pudding mix instead of butterscotch, and increased the amount of peanut butter.
The end result was exactly what I wanted!
How to Make Ninja Creami Peanut Butter Ice Cream
It’s easy to make this ice cream with just a few simple ingredients, and you can customize it to your liking with mix-ins!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Whole milk
- Instant vanilla pudding mix
- Creamy peanut butter
- Heavy cream
How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is located below)
Blend the base. To start, you’ll combine the milk, pudding mix, and peanut butter in a large liquid measuring cup or other small mixing bowl.
Use an immersion blender to blend until it’s smooth and the pudding mix has dissolved (you can also use a regular stand blender if preferred).
Finish the base. Add the heavy cream to the mixture and whisk to incorporate.
Pour the ice cream base into a Ninja Creami pint container, being careful not to exceed the max fill line.
Freeze. Close the lid on the pint container and transfer to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the pint into the outer bowl and secure the outer bowl lid assembly.
Place bowl assembly into the Ninja Creami ice cream maker and lock into place.
Press the Ice Cream button and allow the cycle to complete.
Re-spin, if needed. Remove the pint from the machine and check the consistency.
If the texture appears crumbly, insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin function. If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin again.
Optional: Add a mix-in. If you’d like to add a mix-in, create a well in the center of the ice cream that’s about an inch wide and extends to the bottom of the pint.
Add in your preferred mix-in (chocolate chips or mini peanut butter cups would be delicious additions!).
Insert the pint back into the machine and press the Mix-in button to incorporate.
Scoop and serve as desired!
Notes and Adaptations:
- If you need a dairy-free version, try this Ninja Creami dairy-free ice cream, but decrease the non-dairy milk to 1 cup and add in 1/3 cup of peanut butter.
- Feel free to add your mix-in of choice, such as chopped peanuts, chocolate chips or mini peanut butter cups.
- If you’re enjoying leftovers of this ice cream, I’d recommend allowing the Ninja Creami container to sit out at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving, to make it easier to scoop.
- I used regular creamy peanut butter for this recipe (such as Jif or Peter Pan), so I haven’t tested it with more natural peanut butter varieties (that separate and require stirring).
