One of my favorite things about the Ninja Creami ice cream maker is the ability to experiment with SO MANY different flavors and your favorite mix-ins.
Since the machine makes a pint of ice cream at a time, it’s easy to stock your freezer with multiple varieties.
If you’re a fan of Butterfinger candy bars, you already know they bring together some of the best flavors, including toffee, peanut butter, and cocolate.
So why not take those same flavors and turn them into an ice cream?
That’s how this Ninja Creami Butterfinger ice cream was born, and I think you’ll agree it’s a tasty way to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Butterfinger Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
For this recipe, I knew I wanted to combine all of the signature flavors of Butterfinger bars, but in the form of a frozen sweet treat.
The result was a rich and creamy ice cream that had just the right amount of each flavor!
I crossed my butterscotch ice cream with peanut butter ice cream, then added in Butterfinger bits as a mix-in.
This gave it some crunch and a hint of chocolate–almost like a Butterfinger Blizzard that Dairy Queen fans will love.
Using instant butterscotch pudding mix helps to provide sweetness and a hint of toffee flavor, while also acting as a binder. And real peanut butter gives even more flavor!
Whole milk and heavy cream help to provide the necessary fat for a rich and creamy treat that’s super tasty.

How to Make Ninja Creami Butterfinger Ice Cream
It’s easy to make this homemade ice cream in your Ninja Creami machine!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Whole milk
- Instant butterscotch pudding mix
- Creamy peanut butter
- Heavy cream
- Butterfinger bits (found in the baking aisle of the grocery store)
How to Make it:
Blend. In a small bowl or large liquid measuring cup, combine whole milk, pudding mix, and peanut butter.
Use an immersion blender (or a regular blender) to mix everything until smooth.
Add cream. Add in the heavy whipping cream, whisking to combine.
Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.
Freeze. Close the lid on the pint container and transfer to a level surface in your freezer.
Freeze for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove pint from freezer and take off lid. Place container into the outer bowl and close the outer bowl lid.
Place bowl apparatus into the Ninja Creami machine and lock into place.
Press the Ice Cream button and allow the cycle to complete.
Re-Spin, if needed. Remove the pint container and check the consistency of the ice cream.
If it appears crumbly, insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button. If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin again.
It should now be like a creamy soft serve.
Add mix-in. Use a knife or spoon to create a well in the center of the ice cream that’s about 1/2-inch wide and extends all the way to the bottom of the pint.
Add the Butterfinger bits to the well and insert the pint back into the machine.
Press the Mix-in button and allow the cycle to complete, incorporating the pieces into the ice cream.
Now it’s ready to serve! Feel free to add more Butterfinger bits to individual servings, if desired.
We always add more, but it’s optional!
Notes and Adaptations:
- You can buy a Butterfinger candy bar and chop it up yourself (or use a food processor to chop it), but I found Butterfinger Bits in the baking aisle of my grocery store, which is much easier.
- If you don’t want to use butterscotch pudding mix, you could substitute vanilla pudding mix or chocolate pudding mix instead.
- If you need to make the ice cream dairy-free, you could use unsweetened coconut cream instead of heavy cream and a non-dairy milk instead of whole milk. However, be advised that Butterfinger candy contains dairy, so you’d need to find a dairy-free substitute for your mix-in.
