When spring and summer roll around, I want to make ALL of the berry treats!

I most often make sorbet with berries, but I was in the mood for something a little different this time.

Since the sweet and tart flavor of berries pairs really well with a rich, creamy texture of ice cream, I thought it would be a great place to start.

Not only that, but my kids love all things blueberry, so I knew I needed to make some Ninja Creami blueberry ice cream this year.

It was really easy to make, thanks to a little shortcut, and it tasted great, too.

In fact, this one landed on our list of the best Ninja Creami berry recipes!

Blueberry Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami

If you’ve been using your Ninja Creami very long, you’ve probably already discovered how easy it is to make delicious desserts out of surprising ingredients.

One of my favorite shortcuts is to make Ninja Creami desserts with canned pie filling!

I’ve made cherry limemade sorbet and berry lemonade sorbet with pie filling, which are both so simple.

So for this ice cream, I used blueberry pie filling to bring flavor and sweetness. It worked great!

I used about half of the can, so you could use the remaining pie filling to make a second pint of ice cream, or just use it as a topping for the finished product.

Once you stir everything together well, give it a taste.

If you feel like it needs a little more sweetness, add a couple of tablespoons of sugar (or sugar-free sweetener, if preferred).

Stir to incorporate, or use an immersion blender to combine. Pour mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.

Re-spin, if needed. Remove the pint from the machine and take a look at the texture of your ice cream.

If it looks a little crumbly, insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button.

If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk to the ice cream and Re-spin once more.
