When I was in middle school, I had a weekly “study hall” period where we were allowed to enjoy snacks we purchased from the vending machines.

Every week, I bought a Cherry Coke, and it became one of my favorite weekly treats.

So when I started experimenting with various Ninja Sushi recipes, I knew I would want to make a Cherry Coke flavored slushy—if for no other reason than the nostalgia of it!

My kids love Cherry Coke, too, so this Ninja Slushi Cherry Coke slush was one that disappeared pretty quickly.

It’s super easy to make, with just two ingredients, and the result was a frozen slush with all the flavor of the soda, but in a refreshing cool treat.

Making a Cherry Coke Slush

After making a Ninja Slushi root beer slush, I decided to use the same ratio of ingredients for this Coke slush.

I used a couple bottles of regular Cherry Coke, plus some Half n’ Half, to give it a hint of creaminess.

I don’t recommend using diet Coke, since it won’t have enough sugar to freeze properly in the machine.

Although the slush does lose a little bit of its fizziness during the churning process, we didn’t mind at all. It was totally delicious!

Churn and freeze. Close the opening at the top of the machine and press the Slush button.

Allow the machine to churn and freeze the mixture, until the desired consistency is reached or the machine beeps to signal its completion.

Once the mixture is ready, you can pull the dispense lever to dispense the slushy into a glass.

Then serve and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • The length of time it takes for the mixture to freeze will depend in part on the temperature of the liquid. I prefer to use refrigerated liquids, as they freeze faster.
  • When the machine beeps, if the mixture isn’t as thick as you’d like, you can press the up button to increase the freezing level of the mixture by a notch or two. It will then continue churning and freezing for a bit longer, making the mixture thicker.
