(Full printable recipe card is available below)

Add the ingredients. First, you’ll pour root beer through the opening in the top of the Ninja Slushi machine, followed by the Half & Half and vanilla extract.

Close the lid for the opening.

Freeze and serve. Next, you’ll power on the Ninja Slushi and press the Slush button.

Allow the machine to churn and freeze the liquid until the desired consistency is achieved or until the machine beeps to signal it’s finished.

Pull the lever to dispense the slush into a glass.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • Because the Ninja Slushi requires that liquids contain enough sugar to freeze, regular soda is needed instead of diet soda.
  • If the machine beeps and the slush is not as thick as you’d prefer, you can press the up arrow to increase the freeze level one or two notches, which will result in the mixture freezing more (and becoming thicker).
  • The length of time it takes for the mixture to freeze will depend on the temperature of the ingredients and the texture you prefer. I like to start with refrigerated ingredients, as that helps the mixture to freeze a little faster.
