If you’re new to the Ninja Creami machine, chances are pretty good that you were drawn to this handy appliance because of its versatility.
You can make so many different concoctions, with a wide variety of ingredients, and an endless array of flavors.
This is good news for people who want to customize their frozen desserts to meet their taste preferences and dietary needs!
One of the big selling points of the Ninja Creami is the ability to make sweet treats that are higher in protein, but that still taste fantastic.
My basic Ninja Creami protein ice cream recipe is a big hit for that reason, as it allows you to transform a protein shake into a frozen dessert.
But as I’ve been experimenting with different flavors, I’ve come across one that was too good not to share.
This Ninja Creami Oreo protein ice cream is a healthier version of my Ninja Creami cookies and cream ice cream, packing an impressive protein punch!
High Protein Cookies and Cream Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami
There are many ways to increase the protein content of your Ninja Creami creations.
I’ve made Ninja Creami cottage cheese ice cream, Ninja Creami chocolate frozen yogurt, Ninja Creami protein Dole Whip, Ninja Creami peach frozen yogurt, Ninja Creami chai tea protein ice cream, and Ninja Creami strawberry frozen yogurt–all of which boast higher protein while still feeling indulgent.
For this Oreo ice cream, I’m using a vanilla protein shake as the base.
I chose a Fairlife vanilla protein shake, but you can use a different kind if you have a favorite.
Then I used some Oreo instant pudding mix in the base.
Using pudding mix in Ninja Creami recipes is a great way to add sweetness and flavor, while also serving as a binder for the ice cream.
Then I added some Cool Whip as well. This helps to prevent some of the iciness that can come with using a protein shake.
I used regular Cool Whip, but you can use a Lite variety if you prefer.
Mixing in Oreo cookie pieces at the end makes this the perfect cookies and cream treat.

How to Make this Ninja Creami Oreo Protein Shake
It’s super simple to make a batch of this high protein ice cream.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Vanilla protein shake (I used Fairlife)
- Instant Oreo pudding mix
- Cool Whip
- Oreo cookies
How to Make it:
(Full printable recipe card is located below)
Mix the base. In a small mixing bowl or large liquid measuring cup, combine protein shake, pudding mix, and Cool Whip.
Mix well to combine, using either a whisk or an immersion blender, until pudding is dissolved.
The Cool Whip will mostly deflate during the mixing process, which is to be expected.
The Oreo pudding mix has some small cookie pieces in it, so you might see some floating in your base, which is fine.
Freeze. Transfer the mixture to a Ninja Creami pint container and close the lid. Freeze on a level surface for at least 24 hours.
Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid.
Place the pint container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami machine, securing the outer bowl lid.
Lock the outer bowl into the Ninja Creami, then select the Lite Ice Cream function. Allow the cycle to complete.
Check consistency. Remove the pint from the machine and check the ice cream’s consistency.
If it appears crumbly, place it back into the machine and use the Re-spin function.
If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin once more.
You want it to be nice and creamy before moving on.
Add Mix-In. Next, create a well in the center of the ice cream that’s about an inch wide and extends to the bottom of the pint container.
Add chopped Oreo cookie pieces to the well. Close the outer bowl lid and insert the outer bowl back into the Ninja Creami machine.
Press the Mix-In button and allow the cycle to incorporate the cookies into the ice cream.
Remove the pint from the machine.
Scoop and serve, garnishing with additional cookie pieces if you’d like!
