One of the basic ice cream staples everyone should be able to make in their Ninja Creami is vanilla ice cream.

That’s because it can serve as a foundation for plenty of other recipes, thanks to the endless variety of mix-ins and toppings you can add to your treats.

And since this handy appliance has so much versatility, there are several ways to create a rich and creamy vanilla ice cream in the Ninja Creami.

From vanilla ice cream with pudding mix to vanilla Junket ice cream to vanilla sweet cream ice cream to vanilla cottage cheese ice cream, there are ample opportunities to enjoy this classic flavor.

But one of my recent favorites is to make Ninja Creami vanilla Cool Whip ice cream!

It’s a smooth, creamy vanilla that’s good enough to enjoy by itself!

Ninja Creami Ice Cream with Cool Whip®

For years now, people have been freezing Cool Whip and enjoying it as ice cream.

As a kid, I used to freeze chocolate Cool Whip and then eat it straight out of the tub!

So that made me wonder if you can use Cool Whip in the Ninja Creami machine.

But because Cool Whip doesn’t freeze solid, I suspected I couldn’t use only Cool Whip in the Ninja Creami.

That suspicion was correct. When I tested it, plain frozen Cool Whip just ends up being cold, deflated Cool Whip after spinning in the Creami.

So, I decided to incorporate it into some other ingredients to get it to the consistency where it could turn into ice cream.

Not only was it super easy, but the result was incredibly delicious!

How to Make Vanilla Cool Whip Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami

It’s quite simple to make this easy ice cream.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Milk
  • Instant vanilla pudding mix
  • Vanilla extract
  • Whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)

How to Make it:

(Full printable recipe card is available below)

Dissolve pudding mix. In a small mixing bowl or large liquid measuring cup, combine 1 cup of milk with the instant vanilla pudding mix.

Use an immersion blender to mix until the pudding mix has dissolved completely.

Add whipped topping. Add the Cool Whip to the bowl, then use the immersion blender to blend until smooth.

It’s worth noting that the whipped topping will essentially deflate when blended, which is expected.

Add remaining milk and vanilla extract. Pour in the remaining 1/4 cup of milk, along with the vanilla extract. Stir or blend until combined.

Freeze. Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and close the lid.

Place the container on a level surface in your freezer for at least 24 hours.

Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid.

Insert the pint into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, securing the outer bowl lid.

Place the bowl apparatus into the Ninja Creami machine and lock it into place. Press the Lite Ice Cream button and let the cycle finish.

Check the texture. Remove the pint from the machine and check the ice cream’s consistency.

If it looks kind of crumbly, you can insert it back into the machine and press the Re-spin button.

If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin once more.

It should be nice and creamy afterward!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • I used regular whipped topping. I haven’t tested this recipe with lite varieties, but I suspect it would work fine.
  • When you blend the mixture, the whipped topping will deflate, which is expected. So the volume will be a little less after blending.
  • I used regular instant vanilla pudding mix, but instant sugar free vanilla pudding mix should work fine as well.
