Growing up, I loved being in Florida during the Plant City strawberry festival.

It meant that strawberries were plentiful, and they were some of the best I’ve ever had.

Ruby red throughout the center, dripping sweet juices, these morsels of flavor were one of the best parts of spring.

Although I’m not in Florida anymore, I still love to make use of perfectly ripe strawberries throughout the spring and summer.

One of my favorite ways to do that these days is to make a batch of Ninja Creami strawberry frozen yogurt!

This recipe takes advantage of the natural sweetness of strawberries, pairing it with high-protein Greek yogurt.

The result? A silky smooth, rich and creamy treat that tastes like the best strawberry ice cream you’ve ever had!

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt in the Ninja Creami

When I tell you this frozen yogurt is delicious, I mean it! In fact, my 8-year old son almost ate the entire pint in one sitting!

The key here is starting with good quality, ripe strawberries.

Let them sit in some monk fruit sweetener or granulated sugar, which brings out the juices.

The juices turn into a sweet syrup that really brings out the flavor in this recipe!

Add in some Greek yogurt and a bit of milk, blend it up, and you’re ready to freeze.

I use full-fat Greek yogurt for this recipe, which keeps it nice and creamy.

You’re welcome to use a lower-fat Greek yogurt, but just keep in mind it may affect the texture a bit.

How to Make Ninja Creami Frozen Yogurt with Strawberries

It’s really easy to make this sweet treat!

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Monk fruit sweetener or white granulated sugar
  • Greek yogurt (I recommend full-fat)
  • Milk

How to Make it:

Macerate the berries. Add some sliced strawberries to a small bowl. Sprinkle the sweetener over the berries and stir to combine.

Let the berries sit for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing the berries to release their juices.

The juices will thicken an almost syrupy consistency.

Blend the base. In a large liquid measuring cup or small mixing bowl, combine yogurt, milk, and the strawberries with their juices.

Use an immersion blender to blend everything together.

Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container.

Freeze. Close the lid on the pint container and transfer to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.

Spin. Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the container into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, and secure the outer bowl lid.

Place bowl apparatus into the Ninja Creami, locking it into place.

Select the Lite Ice Cream function and allow the cycle to complete.

Re-spin if needed. Remove the pint from the machine and check the consistency of the frozen yogurt.

If it appears crumbly, insert it back into the machine and use the Re-spin button to process it again.

If it’s still crumbly after that, add a tablespoon of milk and Re-spin again. It should be nice and creamy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • I prefer to use full-fat Greek yogurt to keep this nice and creamy. If you’d like, you can use lower-fat yogurt, but keep in mind that the texture will be a little different.
  • Feel free to add a mix-in afterward if you’d like–you could add chocolate chips for a “chocolate dipped strawberry” flair, or some chopped graham crackers for a strawberry pie flavor.
