The holidays are often completely full of rich, decadent, over-the-top sweet treats.
And while those certainly have a place, sometimes you want something that’s lighter, but still feels like a holiday treat.
That’s where ice cream and milkshake recipes can be a lifesaver!
You can enjoy a frozen dessert that has the flavors of the season, but that doesn’t feel super heavy.
This Ninja Slushi eggnog milkshake is the perfect example of a lighter treat that’s satisfying and seasonal.
It’s also a great option for those who live in warmer climates during the holidays.
All you need is three ingredients to make it!

Making an Eggnog Milkshake in the Ninja Slushi
Ever since I bought a Ninja Slushi machine, I’ve been experimenting with different flavors and types of treats.
And since I’m a big fan of making an eggnog milkshake in the Ninja Creami, I knew I needed to try making one in the Slushi.
Traditionally, you need ice cream to make a milkshake. But with the Ninja Slushi machine, all you need is the liquid.
The machine essentially churns and freezes the liquid, so it’s never blended with ice cream.
I’ve found that making milkshakes in the Ninja Slushi can be a little tricky, and it took a few tries to get this one right.
Part of the key is diluting the eggnog–it’s too thick to freeze properly if you just use the eggnog by itself.
But if you dilute it too much, you decrease the amount of sugar, which affects its ability to freeze (and also diminishes the flavor).
Just like Goldilocks, it has to be “just right” to turn out well!

How to Make a Ninja Slushi Eggnog Milkshake
It’s really easy to whip up this holiday treat!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Eggnog
- Milk
- Ground Nutmeg
How to Make It:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Mix ingredients. First, you’ll add the eggnog, milk, and nutmeg to a liquid measuring cup with a spout.
Whisk or stir together until combined.

Freeze. Next, you’ll pour the mixture through the opening in the top of the Ninja Slushi machine.
Close the opening and press the Milkshake button on the machine. Allow it to churn and freeze.

Serve. Once the mixture has achieved the desired consistency, pull the lever to dispense the milkshake into a glass.
I like to top with some whipped cream and a sprinkle of more nutmeg on top!

Notes and Adaptations:
- The amount of time it takes to freeze will depend on the temperature of your ingredients to start (colder ingredients freeze faster), as well as the consistency you prefer.
- Once the machine beeps to signal the mixture is ready, check the consistency. If it’s not as thick as you’d like, you can press the up arrow to increase the freeze level by one or two notches, if desired.
