Making Homemade Mango Yogurt Popsicles

To make these easy popsicles, you only need a few key ingredients.

Frozen mango is an easy choice here, because it’s readily available all year and it’s already cut up into chunks. If you prefer to use fresh mango, that works too!

Coconut yogurt is an easy way to add some protein, sweetness, and coconut flavor to the popsicles. You can choose your favorite variety, depending on how much protein or fat you prefer in your yogurt.

I do this with my strawberry Greek yogurt popsicles, and I love how it gives them a hint of creaminess.

Of course, you can always also just use vanilla yogurt or even plain yogurt–just keep in mind you may need to add extra sweetener if you are using unsweetened yogurt.

The amount of sugar you add can be tailored to your personal taste, and may also depend on how sweet your mango is. Start with a little and add more if needed!

Last but not least, lime juice is great for brightening up the flavors and giving a little extra zing.

How to Make It:

Blend ingredients. First, you’ll combine the mango chunks, yogurt, lime juice, and sugar in a blender.

Blend well until the mixture is nice and smooth. Give it a taste to see if it needs more sugar or not.

If it seems pretty thick, you can add a little bit of water to thin it so it can be easily poured into the popsicle mold.

Transfer the mixture to the wells of a popsicle mold, insert your popsicle sticks, place the lid on the mold, and freeze for at least 6-8 hours, or until firm (I usually freeze overnight).

Serve. If you aren’t using a silicone mold, you may need to run the outside of the popsicle mold under some warm water to loosen them enough to be released.

Then serve and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • You do not need to thaw the mango before using. Just blend it right up!
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness, which can vary depending on how sweet your mango chunks are. I recommend starting with 2 tablespoons, then increasing to 4 tablespoons (or more) if needed.
  • The lime juice gives flavor and brightness to the popsicles. If you don’t have limes on hand, you can try fresh orange or lemon juice!
  • You can choose your preferred variety of coconut yogurt, or use vanilla yogurt as a substitute. If using unsweetened yogurt, you’ll likely want to add a little extra sugar.
