Peppermint bark is one of those holiday treats that’s hard to put down once you start eating it!
The rich, creamy chocolate paired with cool and refreshing peppermint is a classic flavor combo, and the flecks of red and white candy canes make it extra festive.
But one of my favorite ways to enjoy the traditional holiday candy is to use it in ice cream!
This Dash My Mug peppermint bark ice cream has all of the flavors you’d expect, but in an indulgent ice cream. Best of all, it’s super easy to make in the Dash Mug ice cream machine.
You just need a handful of basic ingredients, plus some quality peppermint bark, and you’re all set!

Small Batch Peppermint Ice Cream
One of the best things about the Dash My Mug ice cream maker is that it whips up small batches of ice cream.
This is perfect for serving just one or two people, and it prevents you from having lots of leftovers tempting you from the freezer!
It works similarly to a traditional ice cream machine, only it’s smaller.
I used the base for my Dash My Mug vanilla ice cream recipe, then made a couple of tweaks to create a peppermint version.
Add in some chopped up peppermint bark and you’ve got a decadent dessert!

How to Make Peppermint Bark Ice Cream in the Dash Mug
It’s really easy to make this holiday treat.
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Milk
- Heavy Cream
- Sugar
- Peppermint Extract
- Red Food Coloring
- Peppermint Bark

How to Make It:
(Full printable recipe card is available below)
Mix the base. First, you’ll whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and peppermint extract.
Add a few drops of red food coloring to give it a pink hue, stirring to combine.
Pour the mixture into the frozen Dash mug while the dasher is spinning.

Churn and add peppermint bark. Next you’ll let the ice cream churn in the bowl for about 20-30 minutes, or until it’s reached soft serve consistency.
Power down and remove the lid and dasher paddle. Stir in the chopped peppermint bark to combine.
Then serve and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:
- The resulting ice cream will be the consistency of a soft-serve ice cream. Enjoy as-is, or pop the mug into the freezer for a couple of hours to solidify further to a more scoopable texture.
- If you have the larger Dash My Pint machine, you should be able to simply double the recipe ingredients and churn for 20-30 minutes.
