When fall rolls around, I want to enjoy ALL of the pumpkin treats.

From pumpkin bread to pumpkin cookies and more, there’s just something about the sweetly spiced treats that ushers in the autumn season.

But here in Tennessee, early fall can still be fairly warm, which means ice cream is definitely in order!

That’s how this Dash My Mug pumpkin ice cream came to be. It’s a delicious way to enjoy the flavors of fall, but in a cool and creamy treat.

Of course, you can still enjoy ice cream when it’s cold outside, too. And if you aren’t cooking for a crowd this holiday season, this ice cream makes an easy Thanksgiving dessert for one or two people.

Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream in the Dash Machine

The Dash My Mug ice cream maker is very similar to a traditional ice cream maker, except it’s smaller.

The mug itself is also the freezer bowl, which is what the ice cream base gets churned in.

So it’s a small batch pumpkin ice cream recipe, which is perfect for one (or two) people. And you can eat it right out of the mug, if you’d like!

I use real pumpkin in this recipe, along with pumpkin pie spice. Brown sugar gives sweetness and adds a bit of depth to the flavor.

It’s a sweet, creamy, soft-serve treat that can be ready in about 30 minutes or less!

Freeze and churn. Next, you’ll remove the Dash Mug from the freezer (it needs to have been in the freezer for at least 24 hours).

Affix the dasher paddle to the My Mug lid, then attach the lid to the mug bowl.

Press the power button to turn on. With the dasher spinning, gradually pour the ice cream mixture through the pour hole, into the bowl.

Allow the mixture to churn for about 20 minutes, or until soft-serve consistency is reached.

Then serve and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • The resulting ice cream will be the consistency of a soft-serve ice cream. Enjoy as-is, or pop the mug into the freezer for a couple of hours to solidify further to a more scoopable texture.
  • If you have the larger Dash My Pint machine, you should be able to simply double the recipe ingredients and churn for 20-30 minutes.
