Ninja Creami Sorbet Made with Frozen Fruit

One of the best things about making sorbet with frozen fruit is that it’s super convenient.

You can easily grab store-bought frozen mixed berries and cherries, or if you’re lucky enough to have fresh berries or cherries from the season, freeze them for future use.

When using frozen fruit in the Ninja Creami, it’s important not to use plain water, as it will freeze too hard and damage the machine.

So you need to use a liquid that contains sugar–that’s why we use apple juice in this recipe.

This frozen treat is packed with whole fruit, making it a flavorful and healthier option than a lot of desserts.

How to Make Ninja Creami Berry Cherry Sorbet

It’s really easy to whip up this treat.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Frozen Mixed Berries with Cherries
  • Apple Juice

How to Make It:

(Full printable recipe card is available below)

Prepare the fruit mixture. First, you’ll add frozen berries to a Ninja Creami pint container, being careful not to exceed the max fill line of the pint.

Pour apple juice into the container, allowing it to fill the gaps between the berries. Make sure the fruit is covered by the liquid, but the liquid doesn’t exceed the max fill line.

If you have large pieces of fruit sticking up, try to submerge them under the liquid so the surface won’t be too bumpy after freezing.

Freeze and Blend. Next, you’ll close the lid on the pint container and transfer to a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.

Remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place the pint into the outer bowl of the Ninja Creami, securing the outer bowl lid.

Lock the outer bowl into place in the machine, then press the Sorbet button. Allow the cycle to complete.

Adjust the creaminess. Last, you’ll remove the pint from the machine. If the sorbet is powdery or crumbly, add a tablespoon or two of juice, then return it to the machine.

Press the Re-spin button and allow the cycle to complete. Once it’s nice and smooth, it’s ready to enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • If you can’t find a frozen fruit blend that includes both berries and cherries, you can use regular mixed berries or a combination of frozen mixed berries and frozen cherries.
  • Feel free to vary the juice you’re using–grape juice or lemonade would be fine additions! You just need to use a liquid that has sugar in it, as plain water will freeze too hard for the blades of the machine.
  • You can use sugar water instead of juice; I recommend a 2:1 ratio of water to sugar (so 1/2 cup water to 1/4 cup sugar), making sure the sugar is dissolved.
  • You cannot just use plain frozen berries with no liquid, as this can damage the blade of your machine.
