Easy Strawberry Greek Yogurt Popsicles

These easy yogurt popsicles are creamy and sweet, and the strawberry flavor makes it a delicious way to get in some extra protein.

Adults and kids alike will enjoy these strawberry Greek yogurt popsicles! They’re the perfect frozen treat with some added nutrients, so it’s a dessert you can feel good about.

In our house, strawberry frozen treats are always a hit. It’s one of those crowd-pleasing flavors that nobody turns down!

But I’m also always looking for some easy (and tasty) ways to get extra protein into my kiddos, and hand-held treats are always a win around here.

Since my Ninja Creami strawberry frozen yogurt is such a hit with my kids and my readers, I decided to tweak it a little bit and make a popsicle version.

That’s how these strawberry Greek yogurt popsicles were created. They’re fruity and sweet, with a creamy texture that isn’t too icy.

Whether you want an easy summer dessert for your kiddos to enjoy on a hot day, or you need to increase your own protein intake, these popsicles are a delicious way to do it!

Frozen Yogurt Pops Made with Strawberries

Whenever I’m making a frozen dessert with strawberries, I often like to macerate the berries first. This helps them to release their juices and creates a sweet, syrupy liquid to go along with the berries.

It’s a great way to enhance the flavor!

For yogurt, I chose a full-fat Greek yogurt, because I wanted the pops to have more of a creamy texture, similar to a pudding pop.

You could use a lower-fat variety if you prefer, but the texture will be just a little different.

Milk is useful to help thin out the mixture enough to make it pourable, which is helpful for getting it into the popsicle mold!

How to Make Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

It’s really easy to make this frozen sweet treat.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Sugar
  • Greek yogurt
  • Milk

How to Make It:

Macerate the berries. First, you’ll combine the chopped strawberries with sugar in a small mixing bowl. Stir well to coat the berries, then let them sit for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

The berries will release their juices and you’ll see them develop a syrup.

Mix the base. Next, you’ll combine the milk and yogurt in a large liquid measuring cup. Add in the berries, along with all of their juices.

Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture until it’s nice and smooth. If you don’t have an immersion blender, you can do this in a regular blender instead.

Pour and freeze. Last, you’ll pour the mixture into the wells of a popsicle mold. Place the lid on the mold and insert popsicle sticks into the mold.

Freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until they’re sufficiently firmed up (I usually freeze mine overnight).

To release the frozen popsicles from the mold, you may need to run the outside of the mold under warm water to help them loosen from the mold.

Then serve and enjoy!

Notes and Adaptations:

  • Ripe strawberries are best for this recipe. If your strawberries aren’t very sweet on their own, you might want to increase the sugar just a bit.
  • I use full-fat plain Greek yogurt (Cabot brand). You can substitute a lower-fat variety if you prefer, though the texture will be a little less creamy. If you are using a variety of Greek yogurt that contains added sugar or sweetener, you will likely need to decrease the amount of sugar used in the recipe. Just taste it as you go!

Strawberry frozen yogurt pops are a great way to enjoy sweet fresh fruit with some added protein, but in refreshing dessert form!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup full-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine strawberries and sugar. Stir to combine, then let sit for 15 minutes. This will allow the juices to release from the strawberries, creating a syrup.
  2. In a large liquid measuring cup, combine yogurt and milk. Add strawberries, along with their juices. Use an immersion blender to blend everything together until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into the wells of a popsicle mold. Insert sticks and set lid in place (if your mold has a lid). Freeze for 6-8 hours or overnight, until popsicles are frozen through.
